Intensive weekend seminars provide helping professionals with real-world techniques to use immediately in their practices and organizations. This is not just "another seminar" that concentrates on more theory. Arrive on Friday and we guarantee you'll have clinical action tools you can use on Monday.
Each training workshop focuses on one area of interest and teaches one of the 14 intervention modules of the Therapeutic Spiral Model with attention to theory, supervised practice, and personal applications of the methods. Many people take the workshop on Containment with Experiential Methods and learn how to safely add action methods to their practice and community settings.
There are twelve required weekend training workshops for full accreditation in the Therapeutic Spiral Model, covering three tracks: Core Action Courses, Clinical Track, and TSM Applications. Some people take one here and there. Some do the whole course. It is up to you and all workshops are open to people of all skills levels and professions.
To register for a workshop, first check the Workshop Schedule and then fill out the registration form on the Registration Page.

A three-year applied course with direct guidance, instruction and supervision from a team of trainers is available for professionals who wish to pursue in-depth training in the Therapeutic Spiral Model with action trauma team-building, or who wish to be accredited to train others. One of the outcomes of the three-year training is that you will have your own local action trauma team in place at the conclusion of the course.

Personal Restoration and Self-Care
TSI also offers 3-12 day retreats set in beautiful settings around the world for people to come restore and renew their body, mind, emotions and spirit using the Therapeutic Spiral Model and Action Against Trauma. Over the past 20 years, we have developed a program of care for providers who work with the direct effects of violence to come have a safe place to debrief, find themselves, and access their creativity. Check the Calendar page for our annual Summer Retreat at a wonderful venue, Sunrise Ranch near Boulder, Colorado and our Annual Fall Retreat for Professionals held at a home on the Outer Banks of North Carolina
You will hear again and again, the cry for "self care for providers" among the TSI staff. This is one of the core beliefs at TSI and as you read Dr Kate’s story in her column, the archives, and her books, you will see this comes from her personal experience. Having NOT taken adequate care of herself, her own life became overwhelmed by PTSD and addiction before she found adequate care. This is part of what started TSI and we hope to create healing retreats for people who need them in order to be the leaders they are to others, whether one person at a time or as a community leader in your own right. As many people effected by violence are the very ones on the front lines of helping others, self-care becomes more and more imperative. Come join us for workshops that include meditation, yoga, massage, energy, art, sound and movement in addition to action methods of change.

TSM is built around the team concept. All education, training, and personal growth groups are led by a team of professionals and volunteers. As we build local Action Trauma Teams in seven countries at the moment, team members come together to co-create moments of healing, community and change with participants from around the world. Hearts touch and minds soar. Team Connections is a place where we share photos and writings of TSI trainers, team leaders, and students alike. It is a good way to get to know those of us in the TSI community and to put faces to names you hear in the newsletter or the listserve.
